Ya'ta'hey!
I know with all my heart that this gospel is true. I know that the Savior lives and that we can find peace, comfort and joy through him! I am grateful for the opportunity to show others how they can have an eternal family too!
Sooooooo...Great news!!! Sister Anderson and I are staying here in Cortez 4th Ward, but guess what...WE ARE TRAINING!!! I'm so excited!
This week went by so fast but yet it feels like the things that happened were ages ago! Weird how that happens!
I ran 4 miles all at once this week (no stopping in-between!)
Monday Sister Anderson had to go down to Farmington for Mission Leader Conference along with 3rd ward Sisters (that evening after preparation day stuff was done), so I went with 1st ward sisters for the evening and the next day! Some guy that we ran into gave us like 10 cobs of corn because he wanted too! It was good corn too!
Tuesday is when I was with 1st ward. After Sister Anderson got back from MLC we went to our dinner appointment and we had something called a shrimp boil! It was delicious! Basically they boil shrimp and corn and potatoes and onions in a pot and then dump it all out on the table and you just eat off the table (there was a plastic table cloth of course). It was pretty interesting but also tons of fun!
Wednesday we helped Mona move some things and we also had a great lesson with Robert Jr. that night and the spirit was really strong! We testified of the importance of keeping our covenants and of relying on the Savior! We also had a great lesson with Jason Morgan that night on Eternal marriage and the law of Chastity. We thought it was going to be kinda awkward but it actually wasn't and the spirit was quite strong! We also had dinner with the Snyders (who are one of my favorite families) and Elder Hancock (who is no longer Elder) who was one of my first Zone Leader's was there! It was kinda weird to see him in normal clothes!
Thursday we were able to see Scott Cox for a great lesson on the 10 commandments and he had some really great insights! He also came to church this week!!!! We saw Judy Martin as well and she came to church too for the first time in years!!!! We seem to be working with a lot of less actives right now, most of which are progressing! Our investigator teaching pool is getting bigger too! :)
Friday, we saw Randy Kipp and he needed some help taking out his cat litter...eww! But it reminded me of old times, since that was one of my jobs at home! We just laugh about it though! We also saw Rhonda that night and she seemed soooo much happier than she usually is! She has started making a gratitude wall, where she writes one thing she was grateful for that day on a sticky note and puts it on the wall so she can see all of her blessings on a regular basis. Wow it has seemed to change her! She came to church too for the first time in a month or so!
We saw Ken again as we always do on Friday nights and his lesson went pretty well. He came to church this week and he will be meeting with bishop about getting a patriarchal blessing soon!
Saturday was a miracle day! Wow, it was so good! We found a new investigator. Then Bishop called us and asked if we could go meet this family who was moving from Oklahoma to Washington (they weren't members). They were moving to be close to their brother who is a member and they want to get involved in the church! We taught them the restoration and they were all very receptive! After seeing them we started walking back to our apartment to have lunch (by this time it was like 2:30, 3-ish) and it just started pouring! It is monsoon season so lots of rain! We took a little shelter by this antique shop and there was this drunk man there and we talked to him of course about the gospel. The entire circumstance was cracking us up. We got a selfi with him because we wanted something to remember the momentous occasion! haha! Luckily Soren Jorgensen and his girl-friend saw us and gave us a ride so that we weren't in the pouring rain any more. We saw Jason Morgan for another lesson that night and He is doing so well! He came to church again for the 5th time in a row I think and he even told us that he has noticed that he's been a lot happier and calm since reading his scriptures and praying on a daily basis!
Sunday was such a good day! We had the privilege of teaching the Yong Women and men for 3rd hour and the spirit was really strong!!!! We talked about missionary work and the importance of covenants and ordinances and also about why we decided to serve missions! It went well! I felt so much love for the Savior the whole day! The talks in Sacrament meeting were also good!
I know with all my heart that this gospel is true. I know that the Savior lives and that we can find peace, comfort and joy through him! I am grateful for the opportunity to show others how they can have an eternal family too!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Hagoonee! I love you!
love,
Sister Brown
